Green Valley Manor, an exclusive and
secluded vacation property located on the beautiful
North Coast of San Luis Obispo County, is now accepting
reservations.
Green Valley Manor, tucked away in the
rolling hills and ranchlands of Cambria, is extremely
private. Yet it is only a short drive to the celebrated
wineries of Paso Robles, award-winning restaurants, the
galleries and boutiques of coastal Cambria, Hearst
Castle, hiking trails, the old-fashioned beach town of
Cayucos, and the fishing village of Morro Bay.
Decorated in refined Victorian style,
this historic home features three bedrooms, a graceful
dining area, a formal parlor, an entertainment center
with sleeping accommodations, a fully equipped modern
kitchen, and laundry facilities. There is also a large
deck with Jacuzzi and landscaped gardens surrounding the
property. Satellite TV, DVD/sound systems, Internet
access, and free local telephone service are
included.
The Manor has a colorful and storied
history. Back in 1868, it was a world of free-spirited
cowboys, “Go West” adventurers, Franciscan friars,
outlaws, clipper ships, and honky-tonk saloons when
Peter Taylor bought Green Valley Ranch. He built the
first “Manor” in 1882 amidst 245 acres of ranchland. One
of Cambria’s first settlers, Taylor and his children
lived at the Manor and worked the ranch until 1918.
After that, it was rented to just two families, one for
52 years, another for 25 years.
Then in 2003, John Taylor—the fourth
generation owner and lifelong rancher—decided to
renovate the family heirloom. He completely remodeled
and modernized the home, inside and out. Taylor then
hired Interior Designer Rozanne Griffiths to help create
a look and feel that would reflect its picturesque
history and an ambience of elegance.
“This has been a dream of mine,” says
John Taylor, whose family has owned the property for
almost 140 years. “I’m so glad our guests will be able
to enjoy this extraordinary retreat. There is nothing
like it on the Central Coast.”
